When did you first know you were on the right path in the specialty retail industry?
I was helping support a high school cross country meet for the Runners Roost and one of the athletes recognized me from the store. He yelled, “Hey you helped me with my shoes, thanks!” It was a great feeling to see our work in action out in the community.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Helping people meet their goals. For customers, it is usually encouragement on running and fitness goals. For staff, it is providing an opportunity to work in an industry and promote an activity that they are passionate about.
What’s the most valuable lesson you learned through Mann U?
High-performing individuals crave feedback, both encouraging and corrective.
