ith attendance in the thousands, conferences and expositions have the difficult task on their hands of interesting and entertaining multitudes. Not just anyone can ascend the stage and steal the spotlight; it takes a unique mix of confidence and connectedness to grab and hold the attention of the masses, and speakers need to be able to speak directly to the subject (and subjects) at hand.
Interbike is the largest U.S. bicycle industry trade show, attracting some 6,000 retail buyers and 1,100 distributors from all 50 states. It’s a massive undertaking, and a successful one, but not without its challenges. “Prior to working with the Mann Group, Interbike lacked a partner with a solid training history specifically in retail staff/operations and sales,” says Justin Gottlieb, Director of Communications & PR for Interbike Marketweek.
Events like Interbike aren’t just about selling and buying products, they’re about bettering an industry through training and education. Without that integral element, Interbike felt a catch in its chain. The Mann Group was able to both fill a void in their expo lineup and cultivate a buzz in participants with engaging speaking from Dan Mann himself and educational sessions curated for each conference.
“We’re proud to have partnered with The Mann Group for many of our events, including The IBD Summit, Fall CycloFest and of course, Interbike. The educational sessions they’ve had at our events were sought out by our audience, an insightful and a strong complement to our overall educational lineup. Dan is also a fantastic moderator, helping to keep sessions on-time while energetic,” Gottlieb says. As Interbike has evolved over the years, so has their relationship with The Mann Group. But even as the event changes, one thing remains constant: attendees’ excitement for The Mann Group.
“If you’re looking for a professional organization that has their pulse on the happenings at brick and mortar retail and delivers incredible content to help businesses grow—then The Mann Group is for you.”
