When did you first know you were on the right path in your industry?
I worked a variety of jobs in the past, from insurance underwriting to bartending, looking for a balance of hard work, personal enjoyment and paying the bills. Over the years, I came to the realization that I am an office bee at heart, but I am not suited for the corporate environment. When I started at Next Adventure, my path was not clear. The work we do and the people I work with has made my future path clear. No looking back!
What’s your favorite part of your job?

I work with an amazing group of people. We are accomplishing amazing things. We push each other, support each other and have a really fun time doing it. I would not have the success and growth I’ve experienced without the support from everyone I work with.
What’s the most valuable lesson you learned through Mann U?
There is an immense value in just talking and listening to employees and interviewees. It is amazing how much you can learn and accomplish by asking questions, guiding a conversation, keeping all participants engaged and really listening to the other person.
Give us one pointer for developing a genuine relationship with your customers.
Follow up questions go a long way. Helping them find an item they know they need is one thing; it takes it to a whole ‘nother level when I ask why they need the item or where they’re off to. I’m able to recommend additional items and really get to know them. Spread the stoke!
Your bumper sticker would read “I’d rather be…”
“in the woods.”
What was your favorite part of working with the Mann Group?
I haven’t always taken myself or our industry seriously. Working with the Mann Group really reinforces that outdoor retail IS legitimate and is a career. We’re killing it!!!
